“I decided to select Amber Springs because they have an excellent reputation. How I found out about the place was through other people that I have known that put their parents in Amber Springs. And they had, anything they said about Amber Springs, it was all positive. Nothing was negative. She’s getting excellent care there. The help is wonderful. My mother loves the outside patio. And also she loves the social room, she comes into that. Everything is just fabulous here. She's very pleased with the place. It’s a beautiful place.”
I really didn’t select Amber Springs. He did, and he was very happy with the choice, but this was his choice. We were familiar with it. My mother had been a resident in the personal care section.
My stepfather likes everything about Amber Springs, he really does. He’s very content with the food, he likes the food. He likes the people, and he loves the staff.
I like that I can leave here and feel very comfortable with him being here. If there are any things that he would need, that’s taken care of. I just feel very comfortable about it.
My stepfather’s nephew was visiting from Florida recently, and he had some experience with nursing homes in Florida, as his mother had been there for, I think, eight years. He walked into Amber Springs, he saw the paintings, the artwork on the wall, and he walked back the hall, and he said, “So many people said ‘hi,’ ‘good morning,’ some sort of greeting.” He said, ‘We never had anything like that down in Florida. Nothing like that.” And then he said, “I went into Uncle Harry’s room, and,” he said, “I looked around, and it was quite a clean room.” He said, “You don’t find that down there.” He was so impressed. And maybe he opened my eyes to so many things I see every day that I don’t pay attention to. The artwork is beautiful. The place is clean. The staff is good.
“We did not decide to put here here at Amber Springs. She fell at home and she was in the hospital, and they were the ones that called us and said that they were bringing her up to Amber Springs in the personal care department. I like Amber Springs for the staff, for the cleanliness — it is very clean and well kept. And her room is always clean and they keep her clean. The staff is good to her, very good to her. And the most important thing about Amber Springs is that she is taken care of — very well taken care of.”
“The admission process at Amber Springs went very smoothly because of their staff, because of administration. I was not aware of how this process works. After a discussion with administration in Amber Springs I found out my stepfather was eligible for veterans benefits, which I knew nothing about. If it hadn’t been for them, I’m not sure where we would be. Their administration here and their staff is very, very well-informed and they do help you through the process. They guide you through what you have to do, and we’re very, very grateful for what’s been done for us. The veterans benefits, and what they’re eligible for, have helped make it possible for my step-father to remain here. Otherwise, I’m not sure where we would be.”
“The admissions process helped me very much because my father was a veteran and I had no idea we would be able to get any help, that Amber Springs guided me through this. And it helped tremendously because it would have been a financial burden on me and my brother sand sister if we weren’t able to get help to pay for my mother’s keep here at the home. I felt the veterans benefits helped because its very expensive to be in any nursing home today, and with the cost of living and everything going up, and that check that we get every month is a tremendous, tremendous help. And they have guided me through every step of the way. And it didn't even take that long to get help at Amber Springs.”
“I have no complaints, I’m very content. I like it here. And I’m sure everybody else will, too. Amber Springs is a beautiful place. Twenty-some years ago when this place first started up, my father was admitted here for seven months. And I was very pleased with it then. And I like it now simply because I can’t say enough about the staff, the housekeeping, the food. I have no complaints, I don’t. I just think it’s comforting to be here. And I see everybody else and everybody is so compassionate, and a lot of respect for everybody. And it just helps to know that it’s going to work out with me being here. And the whole staff, everybody — dietary — I mean they just go out of their way to help you. And it’s a good compassionate caring staff.”
“I like it here. I feel at home. I’m not scared, I feel secured. And my son put me in here because I wasn’t allowed to live by myself anymore. And I really like it here, I get treated great. And I like the nurses, no complaints. I have friends in here. And I also belong to what they call a ‘peer group,’ and go around and visit people and things — talk to people you know, that don’t get company sometimes. And I like to do that. They keep us busy here. We have different activities we do. We play bingo and stuff a couple of weeks, they have different stuff for us. They try to keep us busy.”
